About Erika

Erika Williams_Headshot 2021.jpg

Upon graduating high school, I furthered my education at Virginia State University, a historically Black university (HBCU) located outside of Petersburg, Virginia. During my undergraduate years, I majored in Biology/Pre-medicine. Learning about the complexities of the human body and various pathologies led me to dive deeper into the field through my graduate work in Molecular Biology & Bioinformatics.

After completing my graduate studies in 2012, I relocated to Tallahassee, Florida to begin my career in education as a Biology professor. As my love for academia blossomed, I felt pulled to practice what I taught in the classroom by serving a broader range of students and mothers-to-be in underserved areas of my community. I believe that with genuine care students and mothers will be empowered as they advance through their various life journeys.
